About Our Pastor
and First Lady
The Reverend Dr. Paul H. Saddler is the Pastor of Twelfth Street
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) located in Northwest
Washington, DC. Dr. Saddler celebrates an abiding love for the
Church of Jesus Christ and faith-centered ministries that
specifically influence the spiritual growth and thought
development of those seeking a deeper understanding and
purpose of the Christian faith. He has worked in urban missions
in District of Columbia and Maryland. Dr. Saddler is the former
Executive Minister of Shaw Community Ministry where he
created and implemented educational and social programs for
low-income youth and their families. He believes that the
mission of the church should help stabilize families by
promoting productivity and community awareness. As the
beloved Pastor of this church, he believes that the truth of the
gospel of Jesus Christ is the key to self-worth, self-control,
freedom and success.
Dr. Saddler is a graduate of St. Bernard's Preparatory School in
Gladstone, New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree
from the College of New Rochelle in New York City and received
a degree in Christian Ministry from the New York Theological
Seminary. He received a Master of Divinity Degree from
Howard University, School of Divinity and earned a Doctor of
Ministry Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in
Washington, D.C. His thesis, "Whatever It Takes" is an essay that
can help local churches, community based ministries and
organizations to reduce youth violence and unrest in "hot spot"
areas in Washington, DC.
Dr. Saddler is married to the Honorable Judge Fern Flanagan
Saddler of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Dr.
Saddler is a member of the Board of Directors of the Thurgood
Marshall Center Trust and a member of the Washington DC
Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
