Dr. Saddler is a graduate of St. Bernard's Preparatory School in Gladstone,
New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of New
Rochelle in New York City and received a degree in Christian Ministry from
the New York Theological Seminary. He received a Master of Divinity
Degree from Howard University, School of Divinity and earned a Doctor of
Ministry Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
His thesis, "Whatever It Takes" is an essay that can help local churches,
community based ministries and organizations to reduce youth violence
and unrest in "hot spot" areas in Washington, DC.
Reverend Jacqueline T Elliott is an ordained minister in the Christian
Church, Disciples of Christ and is the Associate Pastor at Twelfth Street
Christian Church in Northwest Washington, D.C. Reverend Elliott earned a
Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the District of
Columbia and a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of
Redlands, Redlands, California. She completed her Master of Divinity
Degree from Howard University, School of Divinity. Reverend Elliott has
taught in the DC Public School System and on the college level as
counselor and academic advisor. Reverend Elliott is a dynamic preacher
and educator. Her inspirational witness and motto is, "Living to Live
Again".
Minister Joy Majied is an Associate Minister at Twelfth Street Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) and seminarian at Wesley Theological Seminary
in Washington, DC. Minister Majied earned her Bachelor of Business
Administration from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
She has worked as an independent consultant to numerous school
districts, post-secondary institutions, school associations and commissions
throughout the country. She has over 30 years of experience in facilitating
public/community dialogues around education and arts issues. She is coauthor
of Watching Parents Grow Through Fundamentals, a curriculum for
parent training and leadership development. Minister Majied has served
on various national and local boards that support children, families,
community engagement and empowerment, and education reform.
One of her favorite Bible verses is "…with God all things are possible."
(Matt 19:26)
Elder Haywood Vaughn, Jr. hails from Reidsville, NC. He has been a
member of the Disciples of Christ church from birth. His father, Elder
Haywood Vaughn, Sr. was his Sunday School Superintendent and his
mother, Elizabeth was his teacher. Haywood is a retired Air Force Master
Sergeant who has had extensive training and experience in Administrative
Management. During his military career, he was chosen to serve a four
tour with the Joint Chief of Staff. After his retirement Haywood continued
his studies with The Walton School of Management. He has held
membership with: The Association of Legal Administrators; The
Association of Records Managers and is a charter member of the Disaster
Recovery Journal. He has served as Moderator for approximately 17 years
and he feels that his past experiences have made serving in this position a
natural.
